Pray for the Tamajaq People

Day of Prayer and Fasting for the Tamajaq People

1.        Pray for Hama that he would have the courage to accept the Gospel despite the hurt this would bring to his father.

2.        Pray for the 3 men in a village close to Madaoua who have studied the Old Testament.  They know the principles of where sin came from and what God says about forgiveness.  Pray as they study the New Testament it will be clear that Jesus is the answer.

3.        Pray for Lee as he finishes Bible school.  There are many, many ministry possibilities and different ways for him to support his family.  Pray that he would find God’s ideal situation for him.

4.        Pray for Cab who has been a faithful Christian for 25 years but has seen none of his neighbors respond to the Gospel.  Pray that his testimony would break though to all those who know him.

5.        Pray for Bil who has come to respect the character of many missionaries but is still not open to admit it is Christ that makes the difference in our lives.

6.        The Jesus Film and video have been shown to many Tamajaq people in their own language.  Pray that many would be drawn closer to Christ and would seek to better understand the good news of God’s message.

7.        The Tamajaq Team hopes to begin production of radio programs, cassettes and possibly videos to use as evangelistic tools in reaching the Tamajaq of Niger.  Pray for the necessary funding and personnel needed to make this possible.

8.        Pray for direction in the development of a community health outreach among the Tamajaq of Niamey, Niger.

9.        Pray for the salvation of all who have recently heard the Gospel and watched the Jesus Film in the bush town of Tchin-Tabaraden , the heartland of Tamajaq in Niger .

10.     Pray for Mark & Kimberlee Wyrick, missionaries who have just left Tchin-Tabaraden to spend 10 months in the US .  Pray for many opportunities to share what God is doing in Niger and to impact others with the need for more laborers in this field.

11.     Ask God to give wisdom to Khamada, Marianne, and Christian as they work to translate the Bible into the Tamajaq language.  Pray for accuracy and readability, as well as rapid progress in the work.

12.     Pray for more workers, translators and nationals, to work on the Tamajaq Bible.  Pray for the finances needed to translate and publish God’s word in the Tamajaq language.

13.     Pray for a continued good working relationship among the translators.

14.     Ask God to protect the translators, the national workers, and their families.  Ask that they be kept in good health.

15.     Some of the Tamajaq Bible has been completed.  Other books are nearly ready.  Pray that the translation which has been done to date be used to build up Tamajaq speaking believers.  Ask God to strengthen the Tamajaq speaking church.

16.     Pray for the literacy work in Tamajaq regions.  It is so important that Tamajaq people learn to read their own language.  This is prerequisite to their growth in understanding of God’s word.

17.     Pray for adequate funding of the literacy work.

18.     Ask God to strengthen Akhmed in his walk with Jesus.  He professed Christ nearly 2 years ago.  Pray that he will fully understand the gospel of grace.  Pray for an effective discipling relationship to develop with Bruce Walton.

19.     Please pray for Mamane who has been exposed Christians and the gospel for many years now. Pray that he will overcome his fears of accepting Christ.

20.     Please pray for the use of the “God and Man Series” of 4 evangelistic correspondence courses recently translated.

21.     Please pray for a group of 4 believers including one elder studying Genesis with Joe Gallop.  Pray that they will understand the beginnings and form a firm foundation upon which to build their understanding of God’s revelation.

22.     Pray for Art who is working with Joe on the corrections to the TEE course on the Gospel of John.  Pray that he will believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing he will have life in His name.

23.     Pray the Lord of the harvest to send forth new laborers into the harvest.  We need someone to replace Joe Gallop in Tamajaq leadership training when he leaves in 2 years.

24.     Ask God to raise up Tamajaq Christians with a calling to evangelize and disciple their own people.

25.     Pray for more church planting missionaries to work among the Kel Tamajaq.

26.     Pray for open doors in Tamajaq camps in the Tchin-Tabaraden region.  Pray for the opportunities to teach the Bible to the entire camp.

27.     Pray for Mike and LaRae Schmidt during their home assignment and continuing education studies over the next two years.

28.     Pray for the children of Tamajaq missionaries—many are being homeschooled.  Ask God to direct their lives and ministries.

29.     Pray against the strongholds of Satan among the Kel Tamajaq:  Fear, Broken Families, Pride, Dependence on Talismans, Preference for the Immediate over the Eternal, and Racism.

30.     Ask God to maintain and deepen the unity that missionaries and nationals have in Christ.  Missionaries are working among the Kel Tamajaq with SIM, Wycliffe, Southern Baptists, Evangelical Baptists, Youth With A Mission, Open Door, Horizons, Christian and Missionary Alliance, and World Vision.  Pray for other groups that God is directing to help reach the Tamajaq.

31.     Pray for Steve & Mikki Schmidt who are continuing the outreach among the Kel Geres Tamajaqs.
