From Breaking Through update: June 3, 2000

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
We are praying for a break through among the Tamajaq people. We long for the day when there is a large and growing body of Tamajaq believers woven into the fabric of Christ’s church in West Africa. As we are praying for and looking forward to this break through, we must be preparing for the future. How will leaders be trained in the emerging church?

This has been the focus of ministry for JOE and LINDA GALLOP who are members of the Tamajaq team in Niger. They have been translating Theological Education by Extension (TEE) materials into the Tamajaq language. TEE allows a student to study the Bible without leaving their family or work. Students get together once a week to discuss what they have been learning and how it applies to their context. Once completed we will be able to offer a Bible school education to future leaders in their own language in their own home setting.

Pray for Joe and Linda as they work on translating these materials. Pray also for opportunities to begin using these materials on a small scale.
